Hey guys, it's Jake here with Etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Honda Pilot, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Etrailer Class 3 two-inch hitch receiver. Adding a two-inch hitch receiver to the back end of your Honda Pilot's gonna allow you to carry cargo carriers, bike racks, and maybe even a ball mount to be able to pull a small trailer. The owner of this vehicle here is planning on using it for a bike rack right off the bat, but in the future they plan on buying a camper. So this will allow them to safely tow their camper behind their Honda pilot. Being that this is a two inch by two inch hitch receiver, you are gonna have the most flexible options for accessories for this receiver hitch. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Honda Pilot- Video
Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Honda Pilot, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. Right off the bat one thing I really like about this hitch is the way it's going to look on the back of the Pilot. You're really only going to be able to see the receiver tube opening and the vertical safety chain openings, which overall gives it a nice clean look and blends in really well. Even though the hitch is pretty much completely hidden, the receiver tube opening is going to come out nice and far, pretty much just right behind the bumper. That's going to give us the clearance we need to use those folding accessories like bike racks.This is a class three hitch, so it's going to have that two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening and a reinforced collar for extra strength. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 Honda Pilot- Video
Connor: Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be showing you how to install the Draw-Tite class three trailer hitch here on our 2020 Honda Pilot, and as you can see, our Draw-Tite class three trailer hitch has a really nice sleek, hidden design once installed. The crosstube is tucked up behind the rear bumper here, so the only part we see from outside the vehicle is the receiver tube here, which is the part we need. Now Draw-Tite has a really nice glossy powder coat finish, so it looks really good on the back of the vehicle as well, and another thing to note here is this trailer hitch sits up right below the rear bumper here; so this is going to give us the best ground clearance, that way we don't have any issues with any steep driveways or Hills or anything of that nature, so we don't ever have to worry about the hitch scraping.Now, another thing I really like about this draw tight trailer hitch is it has an included welded on trailer connector mounting bracket and this is essentially just kind of provide a really nice sleek look. We do offer these separately for the other hitches, but this one is included for you, so it's an extra part you don't have to buy. Our Draw-Tite trailer hitch here has a class three rating as well as a two inch receiver tube opening. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2016 Honda Pilot, we will be having a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com class III trailer hitch receiver, part number E98840.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. The first thing you will notice about this hitch is that it is completely hidden behind a rear fascia. The only part that you'll see hanging down is the actual class III 2 by 2 inch receiver opening itself. One thing many of our customers ask when they're purchasing a hitch for their Pilot, since they're planning on using it with a bike rack or cargo carrier is that when they have that installed on the hitch, what's going to happen with the back-up sensors Well, if you do have that installed, as soon as you put your vehicle in reverse, your back-up sensor will go off. But as soon as you put your vehicle back in drive, the alarm will go off and there will be no warning messages at all on the dash.One thing that does set this hitch apart from others on the market is its finish. It has a matte carbide powder coat finish, which we found has been very scratch and rust-resistant when you're comparing it to a standard gloss black or flat black powder coat finish. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Honda Pilot - Draw-Tite- Video
Today in our 2017 Honda Pilot, we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class 3 Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75225. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. The first thing that we'll notice about our hitch is that the main frame of the hitch itself is completely hidden behind a rear fascia. Th only parts that we will see hanging down is the actual class 3 2-inc receiver itself with our safety chain loops on the side of the receiver. Now on our safety chain loops, they're a unique design where they're on a plate that's welded to the side of the receiver which has a large opening right here, and they actually hang down a little bit below the receiver, which isn't a big deal. A lot of factory hitches on a lot of higher-end vehicles actually have a design like this because they give you optimal room for inserting pins and locking devices into your hitch to secure whatever hitch-mounted accessory you have. Now off to the left-side of our hitch, towards the driver's side, you'll notice that they have a bracket that's welded onto the frame of the hitch. What this bracket allows us to do is to mount any electrical connections that we have to hook-up to our trailer's wiring systems, either a 4-full 00:01:17 flat, 7-way RV or whatever other style of electrical connector you have, you can mount it right back here. Now on the side of our receiver, you'll notice that we have two pinholes. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Honda Pilot - Curt- Video
Today on our 2017 Honda Pilot we'll be having a look at and installing the CURT Class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number C13146. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, our hitch is completely hidden by our rear fascia. The only part hanging down is the part we'll be using, the actual Class 3 2" receiver itself with our safety chain loops. one great feature about this hitch that we have is we have ample clearance around our fascia with the receiver, making this hitch ideal to use with any hitch-mounted accessory, especially bike racks and cargo carriers. Our safety chain loops are a rolled steel design, which are welded onto the bottom of the receiver. They are a fairly large opening and we shouldn't have much, if any, problems using most safety chain hooks on them. more

The two best hitch options for your Honda Pilot are going to be the Draw-Tite class 3, part number 75599 and the Curt class 3, part number 13328. The biggest difference that you're going to see between the Draw-Tite and the Curt is that here on the Draw-Tite the face of the receiver tube opening, and the hitch pin hole are further out. That's going to give you more clearance to the rear of the vehicle, but that's also going to make this a little bit more visible than here on the cart. Both of these hitches are going to be great for your class 3 hitch mounted accessories, such as bike racks, cargo carriers or ball mounts, but I think the biggest determining factor is going to be, do you want one that is going to give you more clearance, or do you want one that's going to be a little bit more hidden We've got a Curt here on this Pilot. Although that Draw-Tite gives us more clearance, you're still going to have pretty good clearance with this Curt because it isn't too far recessed in from the rear of this bumper here, so no matter what you're using, unless you definitely need more clearance, this Curt should still give you plenty. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Honda Pilot - Curt- Video
Today on our 2016 Honda Pilot we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the CURT Custom Fit Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is going to offer the 2" opening, it's part number C13146. Here's what our hitch looks like installed in the vehicle. As you can see, just a really narrow area where we can actually see any cosmetic change. Our main cross tube is up here behind the rear bumper, and this is one of the easier hitches that there is out there to get put on your car. We've already got existing weld nuts, we're going to use 3 bolts on each side to secure it right up to the frame rail. This is a class 3, so we've got a 2" x 2" opening, offers just a lot of options as far as accessories we want to put in there, there's lots of room around the hitch, so any of the accessories, whether you want to use a hitch pen, a hitch pen lock, anti-rattle device, regardless of what it is you're going to have enough room here to operate that. more

Today on our 2016 Honda Pilot we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame trailer hitch receiver. This is a custom fit class three hitch with a 2" opening. Its part number is 75225. Here you can see the hitch once it's installed. Really nice, clean look. You're only going to see just this little bit of the receiver tube itself and our safety chain connection points. Then we're also going to have a small bracket here in case we want to attach any 4-pole, 7-pole wiring. more

Before we get started with our installation, were going to go ahead and give you some measurements that can help you in selecting your accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. Our hitch hike from the ground to the top of our receiver tube measures 16inches. Our bumper clearance thats a measure from the center of the hitch pinhole to the farthest point of our vehicle measures right at 4inches. And now well go ahead and get started with our installation. It may not be necessary to remove the spare tire for installation, but weve gone ahead and done it just to get some extra space to make everything easier to view. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Honda Pilot- Video
Today on this 2003 Honda Pilot we are going to be installing part number 75599 from Draw-Tite. This also applies to part number 87454 with Hidden Hitch. The first thing we are going to do is show you the mounting points for the hitch. There are going to be three locations on each side of the vehicle. The three locations on the passenger side are going to be here, here, and here. This will also apply to the driver side, but as you see we are going to have to remove the tow hook to access those holes.
